Hamburg Senate ChancelleryAs the coordinating point of government policy, the Senate Chancellery of Hamburg more or less coordinates the Senate’s work. It is divided into four administrative bodies: the office of state, the press office, the media office and the planning staff. Moreover, Hamburg’s representation in Berlin and the Hanse-Office in Brussels, which is run in cooperation with Schleswig-Holstein, also belong to the Senate Chancellery. Hamburg’s Senate Chancellery arranges government programs, implements the Mayor’s policy guidelines, undertakes investment planning and coordinates ministries. Furthermore, it is responsible for events in Hamburg’s Town Hall, as well as for state visits and the cultivation of international relations.
Hamburg Ministry of CultureThe Ministry of Culture of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, governed by Minister Prof. Barbara Kisseler and State Secretary Dr. Nikolas Hill, is dedicated to strengthening Hamburg as a metropolis of culture. The Ministry supports arts, artists, cultural institutions and Hamburg’s creative industries. It includes the Department for Monument Conservation, the Hamburg State Archives and the Memorials and the Planetarium.
Hamburg Chamber of CommerceThe Hamburg Chamber of Commerce represents the business community in Hamburg and assists its members in various forms as a self-help organisation. We represent about 150,000 companies in Hamburg with approx. 800,000 staff members. Our chamber was founded in 1665, thereby making it one of the oldest chambers in Europe. “We act for Hamburg” is the basic mission of our chamber. As crucial partner of politics we advocate framework conditions based on market economy. We assume activities assigned to us by the legislative authorities and support our members as a client-oriented service provider.
HWF Hamburg Business Development CorporationHWF Hamburg Business Development Corporation is a private-enterprise consultancy company that specifically supports growing companies in their plans to expand, restructure or invest in Hamburg. As a central point of contact and as a valuable service partner, HWF sees its role as a pilot to help guide business interests through the "jungle" of public authorities and institutions. Hamburg Representation MumbaiThe Hamburg Representation Mumbai is the official representative of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in India. The office was established in January 2011 and is supported by the Senate Chancellery of the City of Hamburg, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Hamburg. Not only does it stand for the key interests of Hamburg in fostering economic relations between Hamburg and India, but also aims at promoting academic and cultural exchange. In order to strengthen and expand relations between Hamburg and India at these levels, the Hamburg Representation Mumbai serves as the local point of contact for representatives in the fields of politics, economics and culture from Hamburg and India.
German-Indian Round Table (GIRT)In 2001, the German-Indian Round Table (GIRT) was founded in Hamburg. It functions as a network of people with economic and personal keenness for India. Its task is to promote economic ties between Germany and India. GIRT is also a co-initiator of the India Week Hamburg. Every two months, German and Indian entrepreneurs and executives meet to exchange experiences in 14 different German and Indian cities. By now GIRT encircles about 3000 people of the Indo-German economic scene; directors and spokesmen of GIRT work on a voluntary basis. GIRT Hamburg is located at the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management of the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH).
Hamburg Consulate General of IndiaThe Consulate General of India in Hamburg was established in 1952 and serves the four North German States of Hamburg, Bremen, Schleswig Holstein and Lower Saxony. The Consulate renders visa passports and consular services to people residing in its jurisdiction. It also promotes trade between India and North Germany, cultural activities and exchanges, press and media liaison, scientific cooperation in bilateral and multilateral contexts and close cooperation between India and North Germany in diverse areas.
